What is WLTE?
WLTE is short for We Love Teaching English, an innovative new online website and service based in the UK, aimed at connecting students with English teachers offering private tuition in their local area. The website features grammar and comprehension tests at different levels and a localised search service to find registered teachers in your area. Whether you are looking for ongoing help, exam preparation, or are learning English as a second language, this is the ideal solution, and one which can easily fit around your daily life.
FOR STUDENTS
How do I register?
Teachers and students must be over the age of 18 to register and use our website. If you are a parent, guardian or family member looking for tuition for a student under 18, you are more than welcome to visit our site and join up as a member to find a tutor on their behalf. We have worked hard to create an easy, streamlined process, so all students or parents can be up and running on the site in no time. To register as a student member, all you need to do is fill in an online form, submit some basic information and create your login details.
How do I edit my profile?
To edit or alter any details, log in and go to your profile/dashboard area. Here you will be able to bring up your profile information and change details as needed.
I lost my username and password. How do I recover them?
If you have forgotten your login details, please click on the forgotten password link on the sign in page. When prompted enter your email address. You'll then be sent an email containing a link, which you need to click on to re-access your profile and create new log in details
How much does it cost to register?
Registration is free of charge for all students signing up to our site. When you join you will have access to all of the useful resources and downloads on site and any further content we add in the future, along with access to our all-important teacher directory and search.
How do I look for an English teacher in my area?
You can use the website on laptops, mobile phones or tablets and search by your local area, or by typing in your address and country. Submit your query and the search results will appear on the screen. You can then click through to find out more information on individual tutors and their availability and experience. Then it's time to shortlist the potential teachers to connect with.
How do I contact the teachers found in my search?
Anyone can search for teacher details on We Love Teaching English, but only registered members will be able to see full profiles and request contact details where applicable. When you register and log in you'll see contact details for teachers in your search area and you'll be able to send a message. Teachers can choose to add just their email, or they can include their phone number too.
How do I pay for the English lessons?
Please check individual teacher profiles for details of their fees. All payments will happen offline and will be made direct to your chosen teacher. When you book with a teacher in your area, you can agree the best method of payment with them before your first lesson.
How do I delete my profile?
Members can cancel their membership of the site and delete their profiles at any time. There will either be buttons available on log-in areas to do this, or you can contact us to submit a cancellation request.
FOR TEACHERS
I am a new teacher. How does WLTE work?
WLTE is a service that connects qualified teachers with students in your local area. Students will use our localised search facilities to search for the teachers that suit their needs - whether that be purely location based, someone qualified to teach English as a second language, a teacher to help with exam prep, or someone available for ongoing lessons and support. Teachers will register as a member and choose one of the subscription services on offer (3 months, 6 months etc.) Once you have registered and completed your profile you will be fully listed in our directory of private tutors.
How do I create a teacher account?
Like students, you will have to complete registration forms. Along with basic information such as nationality and years of teaching experience, a further form is included asking for information on your teaching skills, what you can offer students and your location and fees. A subscription service will be rolled out, with a number of different time periods available.
How do I edit my teacher’s profile?
If you log in you will be able to load up and edit your profile details and make any changes you need, such as different fees or change of address. If, at any time, you wish to delete your profile, then there is a button on the teacher dashboard to enable you to do this. In terms of your subscription, please give at least 48 hours' notice before your subscription period ends for cancellation to be processed.
I have lost my username and password. How do I recover them?
Please go to the login section and use the forgotten password option. Type in your email address and you'll receive an email with a link to click. This will enable you to reset your details and gain access to your profile.
How do I create a good teacher profile?
We've designed our forms to be easy to fill in and submit. Please give a good overall picture of your teaching experience and any specific skills or services you can offer students who conduct a search with us.
How do I pay for a subscription?
Payment details and accepted methods of payment will be made available on site and through communication that we send out. A number of different options and time periods will be available, so you could join for 3 months, 6 months, or a year. You can cancel your subscription at any time and it will run out on expiry, or if you decide to stay with the site it will auto renew.
How do students contact me?
Registered students will be able to contact you by sending a message to your email address. You also have the option to add a contact number to your profile.
Will my contact details be visible to everyone?
Contact details will only be visible to registered students. They will click on your details in their search results, and will see your profile details and any contact details you've chosen to upload.
How do I get paid for my lessons?
Students will pay for lessons offline and you will be paid directly by them. You can arrange payment methods directly with them when they book or arrive for their first lesson. You will be working on a self employed basis, so while payment will vary depending on each individual student and their needs, you are responsible for including relevant taxes within your fees, and fulfilling tax obligations.
