Example of present perfect vs past simple: I have written the first chapter of my book today

Insert the verbs in their correct form (either present perfect or past simple forms) into the following sentences.
For example, for the verb "run":
‘Because it was cold, I ……….. home quickly.’
Answer: ‘Because it was cold, I ran home quickly.’
This uses the verb in its past simple form.
