It was a warm wet day when Mike pulled up to the mansion house he sat back and stretched as he appraised it through his rain-drenched windscreen dreading crossing the muddy garden with all of its puddles and boggy water-logged patches it had belonged to his eccentric great uncle but he’d left it to Mike and his sister Susan in his will the locals liked to say that it was haunted but Mike wasn’t a believer of such nonsense he had a more realistic mind-set unlike Susan who refused to set foot anywhere near the place well he supposed had just have to do it up on behalf of them both and sell it on afterwards but who would even want the drab dreary old place no one in their right mind.
